Auto Loans

Most banks and finance companies won't finance an old car (10 years old). You might be able to get a personal (signature) loan, or a loan secured by other property if you were to purchase an older car. Check with your bank or credit union to see what options are available. If you are going to purchase a car that isn't to old many banks will help you out depending on some auto loan criteria. You need to have a steady job that pays well. A job history is required so it shows that you are able to pay off the loan on time without any problems. Many banks require references to contact them if you default the loan or late on payments. Proof of residence is required by many auto loans. A number of auto loans have a set time of when the loan has to be payed off. One lender may allow a maxium of 5 years to pay off while another might allow 10. Keep in mind the longer you have the loadthe more interest accumulates. It is wise to check a low interest rate auto loan and pay it off quickly.
